Elevate Your Healthcare Career in Singapore’s Healthier SG Future
Empower patients. Foster healthier lifestyles.
Advance to a rewarding role in preventive health.
Health Coaching
Building on the valuable foundation of frontline healthcare roles like clinic assistants, Health Coaches take patient care to the next level. As patient mentors, digital health navigators, and behaviour-change specialists, they play a central role in Singapore’s Healthier SG movement.
The New Face of Modern Healthcare
Healthier SG is revolutionising healthcare by focusing on prevention rather than just treatment—through personalised care plans, CGMs, wearables, telehealth, and ongoing coaching.
Health Coaches drive this shift forward, expanding beyond operational support to deeply influence patient outcomes and well-being.
You don’t just assist.
You guide transformations, one patient, one habit, one breakthrough at a time.
Why become a Health Coach?
1.
You’re part
of Singapore’s Healthier SG movement.
You help patients stay healthy with simple, personalised plans and ongoing support, not just treat illness after it happens.
2.
You empower patients with modern digital tools.
From CGMs to telehealth apps, you teach patients to use technology confidently, going far beyond traditional clinic tasks.
3.
You make a real difference in people’s
lives.
Your coaching helps patients feel better, live healthier, and stay motivated. Your impact is immediate, visible, and deeply meaningful.
Who can become
a Health Coach?
Anyone with a passion for helping others improve their health can become a Health Coach, no prior clinical experience needed.
You’re a great fit if you:
Enjoy talking to and supporting people
Care about health, wellness, or lifestyle improvement
Feel comfortable using digital tools and apps
Are patient, empathetic, and a good listener
Want a more meaningful role than typical clinic work
If you care about guiding others toward healthier lives, you can thrive as a Health Coach.
How to Become
a Health Coach
Step 1:
Complete the Diploma in Applied Health Coaching
and MedTech.
This is the main pathway to becoming a Health Coach in Singapore.
The programme jointly developed with Kingston International College equips you with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on training needed to support Healthier SG initiatives.
Step 2:
Develop essential coaching
and care skills.
You’ll learn:
Health coaching and behaviour-change techniques
Chronic disease support (diabetes, hypertension, obesity)
Digital health and MedTech skills, including CGMs and telehealth
Patient communication and engagement
Basic clinical support for frontline care
Step 3:
Gain real experience during a 6-month paid industry attachment.
Train in clinics or community health settings alongside doctors and professional coaches.
This hands-on experience prepares you to enter the workforce with confidence from day one.
Your Future as a Certified Health Coach
As a certified Health Coach, you can progress into higher-reimbursement roles (subject to review) and take on leadership responsibilities.
You may choose to:
* Work full-time with 1doc as a Team Leader, or
* Run your own independent wellness and healthcare business under the 1doc platform.
* Specialise further in chronic disease management, digital health, or community care
This diploma is aligned under Singapore’s SkillsFuture framework and supports pathways to undergraduate programmes in health-related fields through credit recognition and advanced entry. In just 12 months, you enter the workforce quickly while keeping open the option for further academic progression.
